To My New NCCF Family House Members (5)

Hello Jesus Corper,

Gracious greetings to you.

We thank God for the overwhelming success of the Rural Rugged held nationwide last weekend. Indeed, the testimonies abound; however, although we always pray for a net-breaking harvest which implies that we reap fruits beyond our expectations, we do not want a wasteful harvest; hence, the need for us to enlarge our capacities.

We are not ignorant of the devices of the devil, for he goes about sowing tares while men are asleep from their labours. So, men and brethren, what shall we do?

First, we shall let go of any offences or grudge that seemed to come in between us during the heat of our corporate work. Then we shall pray and pray and pray until we the glory of God is fully realized in the respective fields of our missionary expeditions. We shall pray for security of the souls already won. We also have to collaborate with churches and missionary organizations to provide consistent support to them.

Furthermore, individually, we have to write memoirs of our experiences; such shall be testimonies of God’s faithfulness to us, especially in our times of doubt. Also, corporately, we should write a report of the outreach for future reference; this will provide a vital tool for inspiring subsequent generations, providing guidance to them as well as securing strategic partnerships with organizations that are ‘needful for our ministry’.

Besides, it is now time to fully settle into the family house. ‘God sets the solitary in families’ is the witness of scripture (Psalms 68:6). Interestingly, many people often arrive at the family house with incredible expectations. Most times, their eventual experiences are just too far from their expectations; hence, they are disillusioned and query the reality of NCCF as a family.

If you ever expected that you will meet a bunch of perfect people in the family house, you are wrong! If you thought that everybody there will understand you, care for you, listen to you and help when you need a hand, you might as well be positioned for disillusionment.

Scripturally speaking, ‘Hope deferred makes the heart sick’ and ‘There is nothing new under the sun’. Roberts Liardon once complemented the latter maxim with a remark: ‘If there is anything new under the sun, you are the one’. The sickness of the heart robs a soul of its soundness; and even more, a sick heart spreads its disease to many even from a distance.

Why passing through the fire and expect a miracle if you can take a better road to arrive safely? Tomorrow, I will share with you some crucial things you need to know to fortify your heart against unnecessary ‘heartbreak’ during your sojourn.

Stay blessed.

Warm regards,
